Main Screen
 
 
When you enter the galleries, you are welcomed with the above screen.
 
Menu
The menu consists of two lines. The first line allows you to return to the Main screen (Album ist), to Register, or to Login (if you are already registered).
If you want to join, click on Register, fill in the requested information, and submit. You will receive an email back at the email address you specify. Click on the link provided in the email and you will be activated. You can now login and upload pictures.
To login, click on Login. Enter the user id and password you used to register.
The second line of menu provides different views of the galleries and albums, and allows you to search by keywords. The search will only be as useful as you enter the appropriate keywords for each picture you upload. At a minimum, we ask you to enter the camera make and model because this will help others who want to know what kind of pictures that particular digital camera can take.
 
Once you are logged in, the menu lines change to provide more options, and a third menu line displays to allow you to create and modify albums:
 
 
User Galleries
Click on User Galleries to create your own public and/or private galleries.
 
 
If you are not in Admin mode, clik on Admin mode in the first line menu. [If it says User mode, then you are already in Admin mode.]
Click on Create / order my albums to display the Album Manager:
 
 
Click New to add a new album. Rename New album.
 
 
Click Apply Modifications when you have finished creating your new album(s).
 
Private & Public Albums
Click Modify my albums to display the Update album screen.
 
 
From the drop-down list at top right, select an album.
Enter an Album description if you wish.
To set this album as a private album: under Permissions for this album, select Album can be viewed by "Me only" or your special group (email me to set that group up for you) and set the other two options to "No".
To set this album as a public album: under Permissions for this album, select Album can be viewed by "Everybody (public album)" and set the other three options to "No,Yes,Yes" (or to all "No"s if you prefer).
 
 
Click Update album to save changes.
 
Uploading Pictures
Click Upload picture in the first line menu.
 
 
Select an album from the drop-down list to upload pictures to.
Click Browse... to browse to the picture in your hard drive's directory.
Enter a Picture title.
Enter a Picture description if desired.
For keywords, please enter the camera make and model as a minimum. This will help us all as we search for image samples taken by a particular camera. You may also enter other keywords you think people may search on that describe your picture well.
Enter the Camera (Make & Model) again. Enter Shutter Speed (sec.), Aperture (f/value) and ISO -- if you know these values. They can be obtained from the image editing software that comes with your digital camera.
Click Upload picture to upload the picture.
Note that there is a maximum allowable file size of 200KB per picture. That's plenty most of the time.
In Photoshop Elements, I usually resize my image to 640x480 and save to web with a quality value ranging from 30 to 51. The idea is to keep the image to around 30KB to 40KB. This way it uploads fast for you, downloads fast for those viewing, and still displays with a good quality.
 
Sharing Pictures
When you have uploaded your pictures, simply invite your firends to Cassepoze.com to view your public gallery.
 
Themed Galleries
To upload a picture to a Themed Gallery, follow the same steps in Uploading Pictures. Just select the appropriate album in the Album drop-down list.
Please ensure you are uploading to the appropriate album.
We intend to feature pictures posted in the Themed Galleries on Photoxels, so post your best shots!

When you signed up and registered at Cassepoze, you joined a community of friendly amateur photographers who are excited about digital photography and want to share their pictures with you. Please keep it this way in your picture submission and comments. Feel free to comment on a picture, but please be constructive.
